As part of its commitment to enhancing the quality of life for People of Determination, the Dubai Charity Association announced the signing of a cooperation and strategic partnership agreement with the Emirates Down Syndrome Association, on the sidelines of the 7th edition of the Access Abilities Expo, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The agreement aims to unite efforts and establish a joint framework that enhances the exchange of expertise and resources between both parties. It also supports the implementation of joint projects and initiatives that serve individuals with Down syndrome and People of Determination in general — particularly in the areas of education, rehabilitation, and social inclusion.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Mustafa Karam, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Charity Association, and Dr. Manal Jaroor, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Down Syndrome Association, in the presence of several officials from both sides.
Mr. Mustafa Karam, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Charity Association, stated that this partnership embodies the association’s steadfast commitment to supporting People of Determination both within and outside the country. He emphasized that it aligns with the association’s humanitarian and community vision, which aims to provide the essentials of a dignified life for them. He described the partnership as a step towards achieving the UAE’s vision for the inclusion and empowerment of People of Determination, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the charitable sector and specialized institutions.
Karam added: “At the Dubai Charity Association, we believe that our partnership with the Emirates Down Syndrome Association will enable us to implement initiatives with a profound and sustainable impact. The agreement focuses on providing financial support to fund advanced rehabilitation programs, including workshops aimed at developing their skills in areas where our children with Down syndrome have demonstrated excellence. Our goal is not only to provide assistance but to empower them to become active members and contributors to economic and social development
On her part, Dr. Manal Jaroor, EDSA Chairperson , expressed her deep gratitude and appreciation to the Dubai Charity Association for its societal and humanitarian role that transcends borders.
Jaroor added: “We highly appreciate the efforts of the Dubai Charity Association in supporting People of Determination with Down syndrome, and in backing initiatives aimed at empowering them, ensuring their full inclusion in society, highlighting their abilities and creativity, and ensuring the sustainability of their projects.
The new partnership represents a qualitative addition to the efforts of both associations in providing an institutional framework to ensure that support reaches its rightful beneficiaries in the most specialized and efficient ways. It also reinforces Dubai’s position as a city friendly to People of Determination and as a global hub for innovation in the fields of care and rehabilitation.
